Right To Read serves undereducated adults (over 17) in the
Greeley/Weld County area. Currently the program is in need
of volunteers to assist in classroom instruction or to help
students one-on-one.
Volunteers are needed in three areas:
-
ESL classroom – volunteer to work with students to aide
in multiple levels of English as a Second Language.
-
CRESL classroom – volunteer to work with refugee and
asylee students to aide in multiple levels of English as
a Second Language and life skills.
-
Office – volunteer to work with our office staff to aide
in student record keeping, basic office and fundraising
help.

Typically a volunteer donates 6 hours per week – two days at
3 hours each day. Staff teachers are in control of
curriculum, choose materials, and assign learning tasks.
Staff will then guide volunteers in helping students with
each assignment. No prior teaching experience is necessary;
no foreign language skills are necessary; no extra volunteer
time for lesson preparation is needed.
Volunteers must attend Orientation once per semester, as
well as one training session. Trainings vary with position
duties. Right To Read asks for a minimum of a 6 month
program commitment. If interested please visit with the
volunteer coordinator for the area you are most interested
in volunteering with or the Executive Director.
